New Books in German
Project by the Goethe-Institute and other cultural associations promoting German-language literature for translation into English in the UK, USA, and beyond.
A völlig ohne project – graphic design by Luise Wilhelm. Concept of bookshelf and web design in cooperation, web development by me.
The home page features a playful, interactive take of the bookshelf contained in the NBIG logo. The books are loaded and filtered with a custom Svelte component using the WordPress rest API. The list is lazily loaded on scroll. The book covers are automatically tinted with SVG filters.
The content was migrated from a big Drupal page to WordPress. Template completely custom html & SCSS. Vanilla JS except for the book recommendations.
